COLLAPSIBLE TOWERS

Very recently in Chennai, there was a news of mobile tower falling down due to poor condition or bad state of a building at mint street, sowcarpet killing one person. It was obviously oblivious of the people to be unmindful of things like this which is so problematic, yet not so dramatic as to catch the attention of even the right minded people.

In this part of the world even the best of buildings are without planning permit and prone to violations of the Rules and Regulations of the Town And Country planning Act ,the avaricious building owners who think twice to let the house for needy people are more than happy to let space on their not so well built houses to the corporate running mobile companies without a second thought. But for the amendment made to the concerned Act making it a no violation to allow the installation of Base Trans Receiver station(BTS) Towers anywhere on the building, it is a violation and therefore unauthorized construction. The only prerequisite, to have such a tower on ones building is structural Stability Certificate from a competent authority. Just a look at the majority of the buildings menacingly housing the said towers would without doubt prove the quality of the certifying authority and was practically proved on 9.9.2016 at Sowcarpet. If the proliferation of the giant mobile towers on terraces of the residential buildings, let alone the commercial buildings, innumerable accidents of such nature and loss of lives are in the offing. The welfare of the corporates overtakes the welfare of the people ,strange.
